Comfortable insert. I prefer gel over foam
Comfortable insert. I prefer gel over foam. Foam is usually thicker, which can make shoes tight. Replaced foam insert in new shoes with these for better fit and comfort. These are thicker in the heel, and arch, thinning toward the toe. Generally get good products in mid-price range with Dr. Schol’ls

these really are that good! they revived my old shoes!
i love these! my only complaint, if any, is i wish that they sold these by individual shoe size instead of making us use scissors to cut them to fit our shoe. one wrong move with the scissors and you’ve made an expensive mistake. luckily i didn’t have an issue cutting these, and these brought my “dead” shoes back to life!

Decent insoles
I buy insoles for extra comfort, in part to support my high arches and to offer more cushioning. These insoles are good for cushion, but don’t offer as much arch support as I like. They also are very wide and thick, so not useful for a lot of shoes, even my wide-fitting boots.

Good fit
I work on my feet the majority of the day and I have to say, they’ve made a noticeable difference in my daily comfort. From the moment I slipped them into my shoes, the cushioning felt great especially under the heel and ball of the foot. They provide a soft, shock-absorbing layer that really helps reduce pain when standing or walking for long periods. The fit was decent and easy to trim to size. They stayed in place throughout the day, didn’t bunch up, and didn’t cause any extra heat or sweating, which is a plus. After using them for work and casual walks, I noticed much less foot soreness, especially after long shifts.

Not as much cushion as I expected
I bought these insoles specifically because I have a pair of military jungle boots that are hard on the feet. The soles are hard rubber and the insoles that come with them are thin with padding that isn’t enough by itself. I weigh north of 200 lbs. and if I don’t add some cushioning, my feet start to really hurt after a day or two of wearing them.I had some other insoles in them before that were OK, but I wore them out and decided to try these gel ones. I’d used them before in another pair of boots and they seemed fine so after looking at a zillion different insole types and brands, I bought them again.Trimming to fit is easy with a pair of scissors, and they fit my boots fine. When you take them out of the package, you get the impression that you’ll be walking on air. The gel is thick and squishy, and they sure seem like they’ll be comfortable. However, if you’re heavy like me, you’ll soon realize that your body weight will squash them pretty flat when you walk on them. It’s particularly apparent with my jungle boots because there’s very little compliance in the sole– it’s RIGID, and these insoles just don’t have enough thickness or cushion to be comfortable with such a hard sole. I wore them for a day and could feel my feet getting fatigued. My workaround was to reuse the factory insoles for the boot and then put these gel insoles on top. This is not the most elegant solution (I wanted to use a single insole instead of layers) but it adds just enough cushion that I can walk on these boots all day and not feel foot fatigue.I actually bought two pairs of these insoles at the same time. The second set went into a set of logger boots. Again, these are boots with very hard soles and minimal internal padding. In that case I removed the gel insoles completely and instead used a pair of Walk Hero insoles that I had bought on Amazon months before. The Walk Hero insoles have minimal padding but, oddly enough, are more comfortable in these boots (to my feet at least). They’re designed to mitigate plantar fasciitis, which I’ve had in the past, and in the case of my logger boots they do a better job of protecting my feet.So these gel insoles work, but not always by themselves. If you’re heavy and/or you buy these for shoes or boots with very hard soles, you may have to use another insole with them. For the price it’s worth experimenting with them, but keep in mind that you may have to combine them with other insoles, or switch them out altogether if your feet don’t like them. One last thing. Like I said before, I’ve used these gel insoles in another pair of boots. From experience I can tell you that you’ll be replacing them yearly or maybe sooner depending on how many miles you put on them. The gel gets mashed down to nothing and the cushioning disappears. This isn’t a big deal, especially for the price, but if your feet start hurting again after a while, it’s probably time to order a new pair.

Got these to replace the insoles on a new pair of gym shoes. Made a definite and noticeable difference in comfort. Not as thick or squishy as my other Scholl insoles but I wanted a thinner one.
