Curvy vs. Straight
Reading the item desciptions I wasn’t really sure what the actual difference would be between the curvy and straight cuts, and there didn’t seem to be a size chart. I ended up ordering both so I could try them side by side. I’m pretty hippy/curvy, so I typically end up sizing up in shorts to keep them from clinging around my thighs.STRAIGHT:The straight fits typical to size. As usual, I found that the 12 straight fit in my waist, but was snug around my thighs. It fit, but I prefer the legs not to be snug. Meanwhile, the 14 straight was more forgiving in the thigh but gaped a lot in the waist to the point of not being wearable without alterations.CURVY:This fit as I would typically expect in the thigh and had a SMALLER than normal waist for the size number. The 14 curvy fit like the normal/straight 14 in the thigh but fit like the 12 normal/straight in the waist, giving my a nice, forgiving/relaxed/flattering fit all around.TL;DROrder curvy and size UP from your normal waist for a non-clingy fit in the hip, if you have a wider hip to waist ratio. Order your typical size in the straight version if you prefer the legs snug through the hip and thigh.

Goldilocks zone on sizing advice.
I was expecting these to be sized smaller than normal, I think a lot of the other reviewers weren’t expecting the fabric used- it is admittedly NOT a forgiving fabric. The material doesn’t offer very much stretch nor give and that is exactly what I was looking for.I could have easily ordered my usual size with curvy cut or up one size with the straight cut and been fine. The larger size (I went up two sizes) gave me a baggy fit, if I had gone with the curvy cut they would have fallen off of me. The material is thick enough they don’t look like a saggy diaper so I decided to keep them.These are a great buy for the price and quality. Easily can compare them to the Old Navy/ Gap/ J.Crew classic -basic, staple summer shorts that are usually priced at twice and thrice the price of these. The color is beautiful, I plan on ordering more for sure!

Nice shorts – Size Up!
I agree with others who have stated the sizing is off. I’m 5’-6”, 125-130 pounds. Normally a 6 would be perfect. I ordered a curvy cut because that’s how I’m shaped. The shorts were snug across the hips, the waist was perfect, the length was great, the width of the leg was also great, but the rise was a bit short, causing some discomfort after wearing them for a day. I considered moving the top button to keep them from rising up too much but leaving it unbuttoned didn’t solve the rise issue. I did not notice any stretch in the fabricThese shorts are super cute and and I tried an 8 curvy, which was much better. They are well made. The fabric is breathable and a good weight, not too thick and not too thin. The pockets are deep enough to hold a cell phone in the back and hands in the front.The best news is my daughter is a size smaller than me and she happily appropriated them. They fit her perfectly so no need to return them.

Love the smaller leg openings
I really like these shorts. Just the right length to not feel like an old lady but not so short!!!. But what I liked best was the size of the leg openings. My thighs are relatively thin compared to the rest of my body. A lot of shorts I have bought in the past seemed to have huge leg openings (I don’t know what this is called, haha) They wash well, don’t shrink and have retained the color well.

Size up
After reading the reviews I sized up. I usually wear a 16 but I got an 18 they are tight in the waist but loose in the leg. They do stretch in the leg and butt so far not much budge in the waist after squeezing in them and running an errand.

Great quality for a good price!!
Fabric is of high quality, these look like they cost a lot more than &18.00! I’m 5’1” 111 lbs, I ordered a size 2, they fit okay the waist was too big to sit properly without a big gap on the back…. If you know you know. Sized down to 0 and the fit is perfect! No need for a belt with all the material bunched up in the waist.

The perfect summer shorts!
Comfortable, soft, quality material, and no gap in the back! I’m a curvy 5’7″ 142lbs and the Curvy size 8 fit me perfectly—not too loose, not too tight, and not too short. Definitely buying these in more colors!

Good material and value but sized smaller than other brands plus poor quality control
On the positive side, the shorts are made of a heavy-duty material, the colors are nice, and the price is fair. Be prepared, however, to go up a size or two. I usually wear size 4 shorts and pants. I also don’t consider myself curvy–quite the opposite. Yet, I found myself going with size 8 in a curvy fit. I ordered three colors–khaki, black, and green. The khaki was a little loose. The green pair, although in the same size and style, was tight around the waist. The black pair was perfect. I did look closely at the button placement on each pair of shorts, and found the button on the green pair was sewn farther past the zipper than the other two pairs of shorts–thus, the tight waist band. Fixed the problem myself with a needle and thread, but just be aware that the quality control is a little off and you’ll most likely have to size up.
